SPORTS PHYSICIAN

Consultation of a sports physician – helps improve the work capacity of an athlete or a physically active person, their overall health condition, helps prevent various traumas and ensures physical activity for the duration of one’s entire life. The physician performs prevention, diagnostics, therapy and rehabilitation of diseases, trauma and physical overload associated with physical activity and sports. The physician provides consultations on the rehabilitation and therapy of acute and overload trauma, nutrition and sports nutrition, possibility of sports activities in the event of diseases, planning of physical load, as well as performs testing of physical work capacity and in-depth examinations with the use of imaging diagnostics methods (ultrasound).
Tensiomyography test (TMG) – used to make conclusions about the rehabilitation process (assessment of progress), muscle suitability for sports (muscle speed properties), risk of trauma (assessment of lateral and functional symmetry), as well as the monitoring of the training process (assessment of muscle fatigue). During the procedure, a metering device that electrically stimulates the muscle is used to determine various physical properties of muscle contractions.
Determining of basic metabolism – the amount of body energy that is required for the maintenance of all vital processes at rest is measured during the procedure. Basic metabolism in active people amounts to a lower percentage of daily energy consumption than in people leading a sedentary lifestyle. The results obtained during the procedure enable one to adapt the menu of an athlete.
Low-intensity shockwave therapy – a therapy used for rehabilitation in the event of various tendon and ligament overload traumas (tennis elbow, jumper’s knee, planta fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, Gluteal Tendinopathy, calcinations in various tendons, Osgood-Schlatter disease and others), bone overload traumas (stress reaction, pseudarthrosis, inhibited bone healing processes and others), muscle trigger points and trauma, as well as in the event of other acute or chronic diseases. During the therapy, the tissue is exposed to the influence of sound waves of varying intensity and frequency. It is generated in the applicator and exerts a mechanical influence on the tissue, thus helping to improve and speed up the healing time of the tissue. Prior to the procedure, the physician determines the diagnosis and the conformity of the therapy to the condition of the tissue.
Work capacity tests – performed to determine endurance work capacity and thresholds.
Body composition analysis – used to determine the distribution of the body mass and structure of the customer. During the procedure, body weight, the amount of fat in percentages and kilograms, body mass index, muscle mass, total fluid content of the body and metabolic index are measured. The obtained results can be used for diagnostic purposes and they are mainly used for the monitoring of rehabilitation and fitness to assess customer achievements and the effectiveness of the therapy.
